Semex regrets to inform that one of its Millionaire Sires, 0200HO00044 Stouder Morty has passed away. Born on May 25, 1997 at Stouder Holsteins in Wendell, Idaho, USA, Morty joined the Semex USA proving program, Premier™. A Formation son from an Aerostar dam, Morty made his TPI debut in February 2002 at #6 TPI. Morty quickly rose to #1 TPI in February 2003, and remained a dominant force on the top TPI rankings for several years.

Known to transmit the 'complete package,' Morty daughters are powerful, upstanding individuals stamped with extremely high and wide rear udders with an incredible will to milk. These traits made Morty extremely popular in all environments.

"Morty sires cows that dairymen everywhere appreciate," says Pierre Laliberte, Semex Alliance Senior Vice President, Genetics & Research. "His daughters work hard in every environment, making him one of our most popular sires available today. His sons are now beginning to make their mark. We have over a dozen of his proven sons in our lineup, offering many of the same traits that made Morty so popular."

Morty's daughters have been known as high producers with terrific udders and feet & legs that are structurally correct, long-lasting cows. With nearly 65,000 daughters in his TPI production record and over 40,000 in his TPI type proof, this 99% reliability sire still delivers strong production with solid, durable type. In Canada alone, Morty has 23,473 daughters classified with 62% GP or better and 26,144 daughters average ME of 11,763 3.6 418 3.1 359 kgs.

Most recently his daughter, Ever-Green-View My 1326-ET, bred and owned by Thomas J. Kestell of Waldo, Wisconsin, produced a 365-day record of 32,735 kgs of milk, with 1,264 kgs of fat and 971 kgs of protein. Scored EX-92-USA, she also holds national records for milk and fat production in both the 305 and 365-day categories. She produced almost 16,782 kgs of milk as a two-year-old and over 20,865 kgs as a three-year-old.

This exceptional individual is just one example of why Morty's popularity has not wavered in the eight years since his first proof with semen exported to countries worldwide, with the most popular being Canada, the USA, Japan, Mexico, Argentina, Taiwan, South Africa, Brazil, Korea, Colombia, Iran and Italy.

"Morty has certainly been an important sire for breeders of functional, long-lasting and profitable cows everywhere," says Brad Sayles, Vice President Global Marketing. "At Semex, he was the flagship sire in our Premier™ proving program in the USA. Morty led the way for Semex sires such as Frosty, Buckeye, Manifold and Lancelot who all have similar all-around appeal, combining functional type and profitable production. These sires continue to meet the demands of dairymen worldwide, providing Semex customers with a wide range of breeding options."
