Each year at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Semex places 12 daughters of its sires on display for the world to see. This year's group was second to none, showcasing a diverse group of sires through impressive daughters.
Featured in this year's annual Walk of Fame display were daughters of some of the Holstein industry's most talked about sires including:
"Our goal is to always showcase daughters that breeders and dairymen want to see for their own breeding programs," says Brad Sayles, Semex Alliance Vice President, Global Marketing. "Our Canadian partners, international guests and large and small dairymen were all impressed with this display. This group of sires is extremely well-balanced, offering health traits, high fertility, show type and even a promising new release sire... a remarkable accomplishment for any daughter display."
An added attraction in this year's display was Semex sired daughters competing in the show ring. Although not an objective of the display, these daughters demonstrated that Semex's high type, Designer Series™ sires are competitive on an international scale, placing well at the Royal, one of the world's premier dairy shows:
- 0200HO02137 Pine-Tree Sid daughter, Micheret Alexandra Sid VG-88-2YR-CAN, had placed 5th, Best Udder and 1st Bred & Owned in the Sr. 2 Yr Old class at the WDE International Holstein Show. This young sire daughter only improved since World Dairy Expo, placing 1st and Hon. Mention Intermediate Champion at the Quebec International Show held before the Royal. In Toronto she didn't disappoint, winning the large Sr. 2 Yr Old Class and was named Best Udder and 1st Bred & Owned award once again.
- A red 0200HO05024 Dudoc Mr Burns *RC daughter, Sweet-Peas Felicity-Red VG-88-2YR-USA, had placed 1st, Best Udder and 1st Bred & Owned in the Jr. 2 Yr Old class at the WDE Grand International Red & White Show. At the Royal, she placed 2nd in the Royal Red & White Show Jr. 2 Yr Old Class.
- 0200HO03280 Gillette Final Cut has been making his mark in the show ring and his daughter in the Walk of Fame, Medway F C Senaca VG-89-3YR-CAN, showed breeders why Final Cut is a Designer Series™ sire, gaining friends and placing 7th in the Royal's very strong Jr. 3 Yr Old class.
"There's no doubt that Semex's lineup has never been stronger, more diverse or more profitable for dairymen," says Brad Sayles, Semex Alliance Vice President, Global Marketing. "The Royal offers us a unique opportunity to showcase our genetics to our Canadian partners and the world. These sires, along with our suite of solutions for dairymen, are leading the industry by offering real dairymen real solutions. The Royal underlined Semex's position as an industry genetic leader and reinforced our belief that 'Every Dose Counts'."
