August 2011 proof round showed little change for the proven Guernsey lineup at Semex. On the other hand we are brimming over with news of young sires becoming available and coming on line in the next 12 months!

While he is not in our regular young sire sampling/proving program Guernsey owners have access to semen from 0200GU00306 Indian Acres Phoenix via Semex as of August 2011. As any Guernsey breed follower will guess from his prefix and his 'P' name, this bull is a son of breed icon and poster-child for Guernsey excellence, Indian Acres MM Pistachio Pie.

Most everyone recalls the thrill she sent through the entire dairy industry when she was Supreme Champion at World Dairy Expo just a few years back. It is worth noting that Pie is a leading daughter of the very popular Semex sire Four Winds Magicman. Phoenix's older brother, 0200GU00305 Indian Acres Prada (by Sniders Option Aaron), was also made available to the Guernsey world by Semex in very recent times.

In Semex's regular proving program we're making 0200GU00402 Lang Haven Natural Ninja available as a new release sire as of October 1. You'll read all about him on his young sire sheet, but let's recap a few highlights of what this April 2010 bull brings to the table:

• Parent Average of +1079 LPI, +8 type, +868 milk, +41 kgs fat, +.03%, +31 protein, +.02
• Four generations of Ex dams all over 20,000 pounds of fat and 900 pounds of protein in 305 days actual
• His Tiller dam Nevaeh, Ex91% has fat tests to 5.5% of milk while making 25,600 pounds of milk on the same lactation Nevaeh is the number 13 cow in the USA for CPI in August 2011. This is an amazing cow family of high index, high yielding, above average testing cows with higher than average classification scores and some show winnings sprinkled in for good measure! Not much more to ask for
• Ninja is by US proven sire Lang Haven Decision's Natural and is the product of careful line breeding to two cows Trotacres Fayette Loretta and Lang Haven Perfecto Nicole

Coming in 2012 will be 0200GU00120 Lindrian Python a June 2010 son of Sniders Option Aaron, a popular US Guernsey proven sire. Pyhton is from the same family as 0200GU00004 Lindrian Pinto, a young bull recently sampled in our Semex Guernsey program. Bred in British Columbia, Python's dam is a superb EX-92 daughter of Land Of Living P Garrett. This cow has a records to 6-5 14,216 740 5.2 483 3.3 BCAs (406-425-370). Currently, Python's parent average shows +1220 LPI, big pluses for components, big pluses for type and low SCS! Watch for him in 2012!
