Holstein Canada and the Semex Alliance are pleased to announce that Katelyn Graye of St. Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba has been selected to represent Canada in the annual Australia Young Adult Exchange in 2012. During this opportunity, Katelyn will spend three months in Australia gaining an appreciation for their dairy industry, while at the same time promoting the Canadian Holstein industry.
Katelyn recently completed a bachelor of science in agriculture from the University of Manitoba. Most recently, this past summer Katelyn worked as a sales coordinator in the feed industry, and her previous work experiences include working for Dairy Farmers of Manitoba as a dairy industry informant and as an AI technician.
Highly involved at the home farm, Graylane Holsteins and Jerseys, that relocated from New Brunswick to Manitoba in 2004, Katelyn has a lifetime of experience in the dairy industry. Current herd classification consists of three Excellent, 23 Very Good, 72 Good Plus and 21 Good.
As a of member of 4-H for 13 years, Katelyn has been an active participant in events such as the EBI Showcase, Western Canadian Classic, Canadian National 4-H and Youth Judging Competition and the Canadian 4-H Classic.
