The FastStart agreement is a lifetime agreement but it can be terminated by the client or Semex at any time as stated in the FastStart agreement.
As a FastStart client, you’re eligible to purchase semen from any FastStart sire when available.
Semex plans to release 8 to 12 new FastStart Holstein sires and 2 to 3 new FastStart Jersey sires each year as listed on www.semex.com/faststart.
If the offspring from a FastStart sire is genomic tested, the client must notify Semex with the genomic result within an established period of time as stated in the FastStart agreement.
Semex retains the right of first option to purchase selected sons from a FastStart sire that are born prior to the ending birth date as set on each FastStart sire at www.semex.com/faststart.
Semex retains the right of first option to purchase or to gain access to 50% of the matings on selected daughters from a FastStart sire that are born prior to the ending birth date as set on each FastStart sire at www.semex.com/faststart.
Semex will notify the client within a set period of time following the genomic result with its’ decision to purchase/access offspring of a FastStart sire or to release the offspring from this right of first option condition.
The client can select which option, to sell to Semex or to grant access to Semex on 50% of matings, for any daughters with the right of first option selected by Semex.
If the purchase option is invoked, then the price to be paid is set according to the TPI or NM$ ranking as detailed in the FastStart agreement.
In the event that Semex declines the right of first option on an offspring, the client is free to do whatever they wish with the offspring.
